The riders are matched with their mounts and venture off to explore more of the beautiful Skagafjörður. The herd waits its turn to follow. On some treks the riders and the herd go together or the riders will follow the herd. Either way, you can see for yourself how orderly (especially the horses) everyone is!

After a break in a cement round-up pen it was time to switch to fresh horses and head off for the final leg.

This was in July, 2000, my first horse trek in Iceland (or anywhere). I was having such a good time on this 5th day that I decided to shoot some video and preserve the experience and share it with others. Little did I know that this would be the first of many videos, many trips to Iceland, much horseback riding, and owning a few horses!
